Knowing the Person of the Holy Spirit

March 1, 2026 | Sunday Morning Service

Revive Church Northampton

On March 1, 2026, at Revive Church Northampton, we leaned into one of the most foundational and life-altering truths of the Christian faith:

The Holy Spirit is a Person.

Not a force.

Not an emotion.

Not merely a manifestation of power.

He is personal. He is present. And He desires relationship.

While this message was preached on a specific Sunday, the truth behind it is timeless. Every generation must rediscover who the Holy Spirit truly is—not just what He does, but who He is.

More Than Power — Personal

Many believers are familiar with the power of the Holy Spirit but unfamiliar with intimacy with Him. We talk about revival. We pray for fire. We desire miracles. But the foundation of all supernatural living is knowing the Person of the Holy Spirit.

In John 14–16, Jesus introduces the Holy Spirit as:

  • Helper

  • Counselor

  • Comforter

  • Advocate

  • Teacher

  • Guide

Jesus did not send a force to assist us. He sent a Person to walk with us.

The Holy Spirit:

  • Teaches us truth

  • Reminds us of Jesus’ words

  • Guides us into all truth

  • Convicts us with love

  • Empowers us to witness

  • Produces boldness

  • Strengthens us in weakness

  • Reveals Jesus

  • Confirms the Word

He is not distant. He is involved in the daily life of the believer.

A Culture Built on His Presence

At Revive Church Northampton, this is not just doctrine — it is culture.

Our Culture Guide declares that we are Empowered by the Holy Spirit. We do not build God’s Kingdom through personality, strategy, or human strength alone. We rely on His guidance, His baptism, and His gifts for supernatural living.

This means:

  • We expect Him to speak.

  • We expect Him to move.

  • We expect Him to lead.

  • We expect Him to confirm His Word.

Revival is not something we wait for — it is something we carry because He lives within us.

And that truth will remain just as relevant years from now as it was on March 1, 2026.

From Awareness to Intimacy

This message was not simply informational — it was invitational.

An invitation to move beyond acknowledging the Holy Spirit’s existence and into cultivating relationship with Him daily.

When you truly know the Person of the Holy Spirit:

  • Prayer becomes alive.

  • Scripture becomes illuminated.

  • Worship becomes intimate.

  • Evangelism becomes bold.

  • Obedience becomes joyful.

You move from striving to surrender.

He is not an occasional encounter.

He is a constant companion.
